1988 The First Store
1988 The First Store
ZOY's journey began on September 1, 1988, in one of the rooms of Dojunkai Apartment in Aoyama, regarded as the first condominium in Japan.
While the still-existing underground air-raid shelter reminded us of the Showa era, it was the most fashionable area located between Harajuku and Aoyama Street. It was the birth of elegant and simple golf wear, which was unimaginable at that time when bright colors and aggressive designs were the norm.

1998 The Former Hiroo Store
In 1998, the former Hiroo store, with its fresh white and blue facade, opened at the Tengenji intersection.
The building was also home to the “ZOY Escape Cafe,” an open-air cafe with a modern decor inspired by New York cafes, and in the Spring of 2000 it was used as a location for the drama “Beautiful Life.
At the time of its opening, the Tengenjibashi intersection was known only to a select few as a “night tea” spot with only two open-air cafes, but later transformed into an area lined with golf wear shops and a bevy of Italian restaurants.

2006 The Hiroo Store
The current Hiroo store opened in 2006 at the Tengenji intersection on Gaien Nishi Street, not far from the former Hiroo store.
The store was designed by Kanji Ueki, who also designed the interior of MoMA, and was inspired by European mid-century modern design.
The woody exterior harmonizes with nature, and the soft lighting from Isamu Noguchi's eye-catching “AKARI series” creates a calm and comfortable space.
ZOY was a pioneer in what is now known as Golf Street, a street lined with numerous golf shops centered around Hiroo Station.

2009 The Shinsaibashi Store
In 2009, the first directly managed street-level store in Osaka, opened in Shinsaibashi.
Located in Minami-Semba / Hakuromachi, it is one step away from Midosuji Avenue, a street lined with large flagship stores of the world's top brands.
It has been a popular area for fashion-conscious people since that time.
As with the Hiroo store, this store was designed by Kanji Ueki, who also designed the interior of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and here again the “AKARI series” lighting is very impressive. Based on the theme of a “Gentle Resort,” the store offers a bright resort atmosphere that makes the most of the natural colors of trees, and the natural grass in front of the store will make you want to take a swing.
The store is also equipped with a sofa space where customers can enjoy shopping at their leisure, creating a space where they can fully experience the world of ZOY.
