[ZOY x PROFESSIONAL]
Special interview with contracted professional "Ryota Wakahara"

-ZOY OFFICIAL CONTENTS-

We had the opportunity to conduct an exclusive interview with ZOY contracted professional golfer, Ryota Wakahara.

As a professional golfer,
Last season was the first step.

We will strive to reach even greater heights.
His enthusiastic attitude was very impressive.

Wakahara's unique

When we asked him about the key points in choosing golf wear,

Wakahara himself said,
I am often asked about the brands I wear.

Although he is young,
ZOY can be worn stylishly.

I would like to hear such a story,
All of us at ZOY felt our hearts warm inside.

The gallery, which was there to see other athletes, couldn't help but cheer,
I naturally ended up high-fiving him.

Through this interview,
We will bring you the ``overflowing charm'' of this Wakahara player.

Q. Looking back on last year, what kind of year was it?

"This was my first time competing on the regular tour as a professional golfer. The year before that I had been able to show my true potential on the ABEMA Tour, which was also why I was able to play on the regular tour, so I was able to go into the season with a fair amount of confidence, but the regular tour and the ABEMA Tour are completely different, and to be honest, I felt like I was no match for the players who were doing well on the regular tour."

What did you think the difference was?

"I think he has a really strong foundation and it's amazing how he's not just playing golf by chance."

-- So, are you making efforts to make up for those shortcomings this year?

"That's right. If we don't get to that point first, no matter how many times we go on regular tours with the same steps, the results probably won't be the same, so I really felt that we had to start from the very basics and get it all down."

Q.It's been a while since you started wearing ZOY, what is your impression of it?

"Before I wore it, I had the image that it was something that only adult men or women would wear and look cool, but when I wore it, it was a little different. There were a lot of casual clothes, and it became something that even young people could wear stylishly, so I'm always struggling with what to wear for each game. There are so many different kinds, it's fun."

Q. What do you think are the good points of ZOY? Do you have any favorite items?

"It's a personal reason, but I'm the type of person whose shirt tends to come out when I'm swinging, so I like knitwear and other things that are really easy to move in. Knitwear is a large piece of clothing, so it doesn't bother me even if my shirt comes out. I can concentrate on the game the whole time, which is really nice, and there aren't many polo shirts that tend to come out when I stretch them out. If I wear really bad clothes, I'd be really self-conscious if my shirt came out, so I don't have to worry about that so much."

Q.What kind of reaction do you get from people around you when you wear ZOY?

"Surprisingly, there aren't many male pros wearing ZOY. During matches, I'm often asked where I'm wearing my clothes, or what kind of manufacturer they are because they're so stylish. So I hope I can spread the word that I wear ZOY clothes."

Q.What is your favorite club?

"I use a driver. My average driving distance is about 290, but I'm not good at flying. I think it's the most fair in a sense because everyone can hit the ball under the same conditions, such as teeing it up, and I can swing the ball with the most force."

Q. Have you ever heard anything from a fan that made an impression on you?

"I'm still a beginner and not well known, so I can't say I have a lot of fans, but when I entered the ANA Open last September and played a round with Semikawa on the final day, there was a really big crowd of spectators watching him, and I got to play in front of them. They were obviously Semikawa's fans, and between holes they cheered me on with things like, "Do your best," and "From here, from here," and it really made me realize how important it is to have fans cheer you on."

Q.What is your most memorable moment in your career so far?

"I'm going to go back to the original story, but on the last day of the ANA, between the 14th and 15th holes, there was a sort of high-five zone with the galleries, and there were tons of galleries there. I'd had a few birdies on the previous hole, and as I was heading to the next hole with a good feeling, I stretched out my arms and high-fived a lot of fans, and at that moment I thought touring was really great."

Q. What are your hobbies?

"I love playing games indoors rather than doing activities outside, so on my days off I usually play games. Well, I don't play games, I only play games (laughs)."

Q: What are your future goals?

"First of all, there aren't many opportunities this year, so I think I'll spend the year keeping my feet on the ground, getting stronger, and if I can get a recommendation, I'll be able to play in a few games, so I'll do my best to achieve great results there, carry that over to next year, and ultimately secure a seed."

-- I hope you'll keep up the great work so we can see you high-fiving the gallery again. Thank you very much.
